Toys I Loved!
Here are some of my favorites:
J.J. Armes
Real-life double-amputee private investigator shrunk down to action figure size. I liked him even better than my Six Million Dollar Man figure. It was kinda hard to play with them at the same time because the size ratio between them didn't really synch up. I was one of those kids who needed toys to "match" in size or it just didn't work.
Planet of the Apes Treehouse
I remember getting this one for Christmas. It was the year where we woke our parents the earliest ever. It must have been 4 am or so. I loved this stuff. Although years later I became disenchanted with the Planet of the Apes after the realization that the premise was incredibly faulty. I mean how come the Apes could speak English? How could Taylor not know it was Earth? Or am I wrong? Is it common knowledge that alien monkeys speak the English language?
Dark Tower
I don't even remember how the damn game is played. I only recall that it spins around and has a light bulb in it and that you spent more time setting it up than actually playing it. Cool!
Big Trak
This was probably my favorite. Not only could you program it to move all over the place, it would fire lasers and pull around a little trailer that would dump things! Definitely appealed to my developing computer/tech interest as a kid. And yes, I did try to ride on it but it just wouldn't move!
